Janine, you have said it all in this post.

I too have shed a tear at the loss of Michael Jackson, felt the overwhelming sadness that you have described and tried to analyse my feelings.

It is more than just the loss of a performer. Yes, we all loved his music, and we have the personal memories of where we were when we listened to those songs, of what significant events were happening when we heard his music.

We felt his hurt, when he was ridiculed. We saw strength of character when he overcame the hurt and continued to smile. Michael Jackson cared about the world and all the people in it.

We feel anguish at the loss of such a kind and gentle soul. His passing was too sudden and too soon.

Our loss here on earth is a gain for heaven. As Stevie Wonder said, God needed him more.
